This beautiful 8 yr old chestnut was rescued by a loving family and now resides happily on a new farm. The portrait is a practice demo, the reference supplied by one of her new owners, Emma Colbert. I have painted horses before but was pleasantly surprised at how rich and vibrant the colors are when applied with pastels. They are also excellent at providing the necessary skeletal and muscular structures in the face of the horse.
