This is my wonder dog, Tucker. He was caught at just the right moment for this shot. Tucker was backlit by the morning sun with the cool green of the forest behind him. It was a pleasure to paint with such a detailed reference photo.

Bernese Mountain dogs, or ‘Bernies’ as they are affectionately known, are loyal family dogs. They don’t live nearly long enough (about 8 yrs). Be prepared for lots of love and lots of brushing. On a happy note, they do not drool the way other large dogs might.
